Just a little blog randomness on a Monday morning.
1. How long has it been since you’ve ridden a schoolbus?
A few years. I rode one with Adam when he was a third grader on a field trip. He’s now a 10th grader.
2. What do you think of frogs?
I don’t mind frogs. Now spiders, that’s another matter altogether, but frogs - we’re cool.
3. What’s the worst Christmas present you’ve ever gotten?
I’m going to plead the 5th here, just in case the person who gave it to me reads. Let’s just say if nothing else its memory has given me endless laughs over the years. The heart was in the right place with the gift giver …but that was about it.
4. Suppose you *had* to get some sort of tattoo, right now. What would you get?
Well, I’m trying to figure out exactly what kind of place I’d be in that I HAD to get a tattoo…but I suppose if I did, I’d get a cross or something like that.
5. Which would you rather die from, burning to death or “bird flu”?
Wow. Tough question. Bird flu, I guess. Both sound equally horrid.
6. Do you use any kind of lip gloss/lip balm?
Only if my lips are chapped, or if I’m going without makeup. I’m more of a lipstick kinda girl.
7. Do you like pumpkin pie?
Thanksgiving isn’t Thanksgiving without it!
8. Who do you want to be President (it doesn’t have to be an actual candidate)?
Someone with honestly, integrity, and values. Why is it that those people never seem to run for office?
9. If you were alive in the 1960s, would you have been a hippie?
Only in the “would you have driven a VW bus” sense, ’cause I totally love VW’s and miss my bus!!
10. Do you like dinosaurs? Which is your favorite?
I don’t know if I “like” dinousaurs. I don’t dislike them - don’t have a favorite, either. I guess if I did, it’d be the one with the spikes around it’s head. Yeah, I know - technical description.
11. What genre of music makes you want to shoot your ears off?
Rap, hands down.
12. What was the last board game you played?
Probably Settlers of Catan with my kids.
13. Would you let your grandma set you up on a blind date?
No way!
14. Speaking of which, ever been hit on by a much, much older person?
No, thankfully.
15. You can’t find the remote. Where is the first place you look?
The couch - in between the cushions.
16. Where would you rather live, in a barn or in an inner-city church basement?
In a barn, for sure. I’m still a country girl at heart.
17. How do you feel about Hello Kitty?
How do I feel about her? Indifferent. I wasn’t really into it as a kid, and I’m a little too old to be into it now, don’tcha think?
18. Paper or plastic?
Plastic, unless the paper is good quality. I don’t like the cheap bags that rip as soon as you put anything substantial in them.
19. Compost heaps: yes or no?
I think they’re a good idea. Do I have one? No.
20. What kind of socks are you wearing right now?
Socks? Are you crazy? It’s going to be almost 100 degrees today. Sandals, thank you very much! ![]()
21. Are you part of a “subculture”?
If crazy, VW loving Christian pastor’s wives are a subculture, then yeah…count me in. ![]()
22. Do you type with all your fingers, or just 2?
All. I work in an office. Typing is my life.
23. Do you believe in astrology?
No. Not at all.
24. Are you good at math?
Enough. Math was not my favorite subject, but I wasn’t bad at it.
25. Are you politically correct?
Probably not. I’m not really out to directly upset people, but I’m more concerned with what God has to say about things than other people’s ideas of what’s right and wrong.
26. Do you know what a semicolon is?
Of course! Aside from science, English was my favorite class in school. Yeah, I know. Geek extraordinaire. I embrace my geekiness now.
27. Have you ever worn a Hawaiian shirt?
Sure. At least I did till my sweet daughter accidentally washed and ran it through the dryer and shrunk it to her size (it was dry clean only!)
28. Have you ever dated someone you didn’t really like? Why?
No. Why would I? Now that’s not to say that eventually I wasn’t so crazy about them, but when we started dating - sure, I liked them. Why else would you date someone?
29. Do you resent members of the opposite sex?
For what? Although sometimes I think it’d be nice to not have to deal with certain female issues.

Pacific. I’m an Oregon coast girl.
31. What animal do you most resemble?

32. How often do you eat macaroni and cheese?
Once in a great while.

No, not really.
34. What was the best concert you’ve ever been to?
Nickle Creek at the Morrison Center, for sure. They did a part at the end of the show where they went completely unplugged - the Morrison Center is built for acoustics, and wow. It was awesome. What was funny was watching people who have no clue about music ask if something was wrong with their instruments.
35. If someone gave you $100,000 to shave your head, would you?
Sure. It’s only hair.
36. Have you ever met a hermaphrodite?
How would I know that? I don’t think that’s something you generally ask people when you meet them, is it?
37. Do you sweat a lot?
No, unless it’s really hot and I’ve been working hard. Then again, don’t most people in that situation?
38. What, if any, hair products do you use?
I use a curling gel, a de-frizzing serum, and a bit of hairspray. That’s it. Blow dry with a diffuser and I’m done.
39. Do you enjoy thrill rides (roller coasters, etc.)?
I’ve actually never been on a roller coaster, but I used to like the rides at the fair when I was a kid. They’d probably make me completely sick to my stomach now, though.
40. Have you ever seen a 3-D movie?
Nope, not that I remember anyway.
41. What should someone do if they deliberately want to make a bad impression on you?
Be rude and hurtful for no reason.
42. Does anyone know you’re filling out this survey right now?
Nope.

No, I don’t. Never Have.
44. What word processing program is on your computer?
Microsoft Word.

No, I haven’t.

Let’s just say that it had something to do with leaving my former religion and leave it at that.

Anytime my husband says something sweet to me that counts.

Open. I feel claustrophobic if it’s closed.

Diet cherry limeade from Sonic. It’s all about the ice, though.

I think so.

Yes, animals have always liked me.
52. Would you rather be too hot or too cold?
Too cold. You can always put on more layers.
53. Have you ever lived in a college dorm? If not, do you think you could handle it?
Yes, while I was in college.

Yes.
55. Which show sucks less: “The Hills” or “Wheel Of Fortune”?
Wheel of Fortune. I like game shows.

Not overly spicy, no. Brad on the other hand - the spicier, the better.
57. Do you read poetry? If so, who is your favorite poet?
I occasionally read poetry. My favorite poet is actually a guy who drove up and down the coast writing poems about his experiences. I have his books..but for the life of me at the moment I can’t remember his name.

Working on something else…
59. What is your earliest memory?
The first day of school. I was so homesick I pretended to be sick. My dad came to school and sent me right back in. I think I remember because it was him that came and not my mom - that meant it was serious, because Dad didn’t leave the farm for just anything.
60. What is something you consider “classy”?
Good manners.
61. What video/computer games do you like?
Is this where I admit I have an unhealthy addiction to “Diner Dash” type games?
62. Do you know your IQ, and if so, what is it?
No, I don’t.

Not on purpose.

Fresh tomatoes right off the vine.

Boise to Pittsburgh, probably.

No.
69. What’s the closest you’ve ever come to dying?
When I was a stupid teenager, some friends (?) convinced me that I didn’t need to know how to swim to water ski. I nearly drowned myself in Payette Lake because they also neglected to tell me that when you fall down, you’re supposed to let go of the rope! I’ve seen the bottom of Payette Lake - it’s not pretty!
70. What are you really proud of that not many people know about?
That I overcame a situation that nearly cost me my marriage, and that thankfully, God gave me a husband who was willing to work through it with me and stick by me through it. I will be forever thankful.
71. Are you really into high school or college sports?
College football - Bronco Blue all the way, baby!
72. Do you regularly spend money on things you don’t need?
Occasionally, yes. I have really learned in the last two 1/2 years, though, that there is a real difference between need and want…and that there are lots of things I want that I don’t need, and it’s ok not to have them.
73. Have you ever practiced archery?
In high school gym we had an archery class. It was fun.

Absolutely!
75. What does the color yellow make you think of?
My Grandma Hickman. Her favorite color was yellow.

Bandon, Oregon…although it’s too small to be a “city”

Die of embarassment.

Whatever one it is that people from the Northwest have?

Cool? No. They’re 70’s. I do think they taste good, though!

Cute? No.

No, not since high school.
